Who is a good photography theorist?
Im doing an essay on photography and need to add some theory, who is a good photography theorist to look at? (other than Roland Barthes)
Christian Metz, in the magazine Screen (white edition). Discusses semiotics of an image – can definitely be applied to photography (he wrote on cinema.)
Susan Sontag (yeah, yeah bring on those thumbs down) – On Photography.
You could also look into Stieglitz.
